Role Description The Medium Voltage Switchgear Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing medium voltage switchgear solutions that meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and 3D models, selecting components, and validating designs through calculations and standards compliance. The role involves close collaboration with electrical and mechanical teams, coordinating with manufacturing and quality teams, and supporting product testing and technical documentation.

The engineer will also review customer specifications, provide technical support during installation and commissioning,



and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes. This is a full time, on-site role based in Thiruporur.

Qualifications

- Strong background in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience in developing industrial or electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, particularly related to medium voltage systems and switchgear design.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering fundamentals as they apply to enclosure design, thermal considerations, and structural integrity.
- Hands-on experience with E-Plan and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D/3D modeling, drafting, and design revisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Understanding of relevant UL/ANSI standards and safety regulations for medium voltage equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and customer specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
- Prior experience in switchgear, power distribution, or related manufacturing environment is an advantage.
