Manager FP&A;
Company DSM Fresh Foods Ltd (listed on BSE, SME platform) – Zappfresh and Meevaa Foods
Reports to Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location Gurgaon
Experience 4–8 years
Employment Type Full-time
1. ROLE SUMMARY
DSM Fresh Foods Ltd, listed on BSE since October 2025, owns Zappfresh, a D2C fresh meat and seafood brand delivering through pin-drop clusters in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore, and Meevaa Foods, an all-vegetarian frozen snacks brand. The business spans D2C, institutional B2B, retail outlets, marketplaces and export.
The Manager – FP&A; owns planning, forecasting, MIS and inventory economics for the group. Stock is perishable, procurement prices move weekly and margins are made or lost in wastage, so this role connects the plan to what is bought, stored, sold and collected, and gives the CFO and the Board a clear, reconciled view of performance, cash and risk.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by brand, entity, channel and city, built bottom-up with function heads.
- Run monthly rolling forecasts of revenue, gross margin, EBITDA and operating cash flow, and explain every material variance to AOP.
- Model scenarios for procurement prices, B2C-to-B2B channel mix, wastage and inventory levels, with sensitivities on each.
- Keep the planning model driver-based, so every output traces back to orders, AOV, price per kg, yield and wastage.
MIS & Unit Economics
- Issue the monthly MIS pack: P&Ls; by category, cluster and channel, with Zappfresh and Meevaa reported separately.
- Build contribution-margin-per-order waterfalls (CM1 to CM3), from procurement through to last-mile delivery.
- Track CAC, LTV and cohort retention for D2C, and customer-level margin and credit days for B2B.
- Measure cluster and store economics: orders per day, cost per order, break-even volume and payback.
- Maintain one set of definitions so figures reconcile across MIS, board packs, lender reports and results.
Inventory & Working Capital
- Set inventory norms (days of cover, safety stock, reorder levels) by SKU, hub and dark store, aligned to demand forecasts.
- Run a monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP;)
review with procurement, supply chain and sales to balance availability against wastage.
- Track inventory ageing, shelf life and FEFO compliance for fresh and frozen stock; flag near-expiry and slow-moving SKUs early.
- Reconcile book vs physical stock through periodic counts; investigate shrinkage, yield loss and processing variances.
- Support inventory valuation and provisioning under Ind AS 2, and the month-end inventory close with the accounts team.
- Manage the cash conversion cycle (inventory days, B2B receivable days and supplier payable days) against plan.
Cost & Margin Management
- Track procurement cost per kg for chicken, mutton and seafood, and model the margin impact of price swings.
- Measure wastage, yield, cold-chain and last-mile cost by stage and cluster; set reduction targets and track them.
- Evaluate capex for processing, cold storage and Meevaa on ROI and payback, and run post-investment reviews.
Board, Investor & Results Support
- Prepare board and audit committee packs with budget-vs-actual variance, outlook and risks.
- Support half-yearly and annual results (SEBI LODR Regulations, 2015, Reg. 33) with schedules and analysis.
- Prepare the financials for investor presentations and earnings calls, with every figure tied to reported numbers. Statutory compliance remains with the CFO and Company Secretary.
Treasury & Lender Reporting
- Track facilities, repayment schedules and covenants; prepare lender MIS, stock statements and CMA data.
- Forecast short-term cash and working-capital limit utilisation to support procurement plans.
- Flag any projected covenant breach at least one quarter ahead, with a remediation plan.
3. FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Planning and forecasting — builds plans and forecasts that hold up against actuals and explains why they moved.
- Unit-economics judgement — finds the lever that moves margin in a cluster, channel or SKU P&L.;
- Inventory and supply-chain finance — understands how stock norms, shelf life and procurement cycles drive margin and cash.
- Cash and working-capital sense — sees how growth, inventory, receivables and capex consume cash and debt headroom.
- Reporting discipline — delivers accurate, reconciled numbers on deadline, every month.
- Food-business commercial sense — knows how perishability, price volatility and cold chain shape margins.
- Explicit communication — turns analysis into short, decision-ready notes that business heads act on.
4. DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education
- MBA in Finance from a reputed institute preferred.
- CA or CFA is a plus; Engineering with an MBA (Finance) is welcome.
