The Curriculum Head owns the end-to-end design, quality and rollout of a hands-on innovation and makerspace curriculum. The role sets the academic vision, builds and leads the curriculum team, and makes sure every project is engaging, safe, buildable and measurable. We are looking for a leader who has already built STEM or makerspace curricula at scale and led curriculum teams to deliver them.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and vision

- Define the curriculum philosophy, learning outcomes and multi-year roadmap for innovation, STEM and making
- Build a grade-wise or level-wise competency framework (technical, design thinking, entrepreneurship, 21st-century skills)
- Align the curriculum with relevant national and international frameworks and the organisation's goals
- Track trends in STEM education, emerging technology and maker pedagogy and bring them into the curriculum

Curriculum architecture and design

- Design the overall curriculum structure: tracks, levels, units, projects and progression
- Lead creation of unit blueprints, lesson plans, teacher guides, student materials and assessments
- Ensure a balanced mix of electronics, coding, robotics, IoT, fabrication, design and entrepreneurship
- Embed design thinking, project-based learning and real-world problem solving across all levels
- Make content inclusive and adaptable to different age groups, abilities and resource levels

Makerspace integration

- Work with the Makerspace Technical Lead to match curriculum with lab layout, tools and equipment
- Guide makerspace setup decisions for new sites: equipment lists, zoning, safety norms and budgets
- Ensure every project is lab-tested for feasibility, timing, cost per student and safety
- Set standards for safety protocols, tool-use SOPs and responsible making

Team leadership

- Hire, build and lead a team of learning designers, SMEs, assessment, content and QA specialists
- Set team goals,

sprints, workflows and review cadence
- Mentor team members and build their capability in pedagogy and maker skills
- Manage part time experts, consultants and external content partners

Quality, assessment and improvement

- Own the quality framework with the QA Reviewer, including QC gates and final sign-off
- Oversee competency-based assessment: rubrics, portfolios and design journals
- Run pilots, analyse feedback and learning data, and drive continuous improvement cycles
- Maintain version control and a central curriculum library

Implementation and teacher enablement

- Design teacher training programs, certification and onboarding for facilitators
- Plan curriculum rollout across schools, centres or partner institutions
- Set up classroom observation and support mechanisms to ensure delivery quality

Stakeholders and partnerships

- Present curriculum strategy and impact to leadership, partner institutions and clients
- Build partnerships with industry, universities, startups and technology providers for projects, mentors and competitions
- Support business teams with curriculum inputs for proposals, demos and program design
- Represent the organisation at education and innovation forums

Required qualifications and experience
- Master's degree in Education, Engineering, Science, Design or a related field; PhD or additional certification in curriculum design is a plus
- 10–15+ years of experience in STEM education, curriculum development or academic leadership
- At least 5 years with a STEM education, robotics, tinkering lab or makerspace-building organisation
- Proven record of designing complete STEM or makerspace curricula (multi-grade or multi-level) that were rolled out at scale
- At least 5 years leading a curriculum team, including hiring, managing and developing team members
- Hands-on experience setting up or running makerspaces, fab labs, tinkering or robotics labs
