Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in backend automation testing. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for APIs and backend systems to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Java, API automation, REST Assured, Postman, SQL, and automation testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for backend applications and APIs.
- Perform API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or Karate.
- Develop and maintain reusable backend automation frameworks.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
- Validate API responses, status codes, request parameters, and response payloads.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries.
- Identify, document, and track software defects.
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to resolve backend issues.
- Integrate automated test scripts into CI/CD pipelines.




- Analyse test execution reports and ensure product quality.
- Maintain test documentation and automation test cases.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in backend automation testing.
- Solid programming knowledge of Java.
- Hands-on experience with REST Assured.
- Good knowledge of API testing using Postman.
- Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and XML.
- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and SDLC.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Karate API testing framework.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services.
- Understanding of backend architecture and microservices.
- Experience in developing reusable automation frameworks.

Employment Details
- Initial contractual duration of 6 months.
- Contract extension may be considered based on performance and project requirements.
- Fully remote working arrangement.

Pay: ₹742,000.00 - ₹870,000.00 per year
