Role Summary The Senior Accountant, Financial Close and Reconciliations, balance sheet, and subledger reconciliations, tie-outs, close workpapers, and journal entry packages, and supports the external audit.
Most reconciling items explicit. The ones that do not are where the role earns its value: an item that keeps rolling forward, a variance that is small but persistent, or a balance that ties but for the wrong reason. The role is expected to investigate the root cause rather than plug the difference, and to explain the item plainly. These are the cases the role exists to get right.
This is a preparer role only. Approval, posting, sign-off, and all accounting-policy judgement are retained preserving segregation of duties.
