We are seeking a Business Tax Preparer to support U.S. business tax compliance, primarily for small businesses and S-corporations . The candidate will organize financial records, prepare tax-return inputs and supporting schedules, maintain workpapers, and identify discrepancies for review by senior tax professionals. CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Organize business tax documents, trial balances, general ledgers, payroll records, and fixed-asset schedules.
Assist in preparing federal and state business tax returns , including Forms 1120-S and 1065 .
Prepare supporting schedules, including Schedules K, K-1, M-1, and M-2 , as applicable.
Assist with depreciation, fixed assets, book-to-tax adjustments, and shareholder or partner transactions.
Roll forward prior-year workpapers and verify financial data for accuracy.
Identify missing information, unusual balances, and discrepancies for reviewer follow-up.
Maintain organized workpapers and address reviewer comments.
Follow tax software,



documentation, confidentiality, and quality-control procedures.

Required Qualifications
1–3 years of hands-on U.S. business tax preparation or tax-support experience.
Exposure to Form 1120-S, Form 1065, or related business tax returns .
Basic understanding of accounting records, trial balances, general ledgers, and depreciation.
Familiarity with qualified tax preparation software.
Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills and attention to detail.
Valuable written and spoken English for communication with U.S.-based reviewers.
Flexibility to work adjusted hours during tax season, as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with S-corporation workpapers, K-1 data, shareholder distributions, and officer compensation .
Exposure to partnership and state business tax returns.
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Previous experience in a U.S. CPA firm or tax-preparation practice .
