Job Summary : The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement activities for home appliances and kitchen appliance products. The role focuses on ensuring timely availability of raw materials, components, packaging materials, and indirect purchases while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Source and procure raw materials, electrical components, plastic parts, metal components, motors, PCB assemblies, packaging materials, and indirect materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, delivery schedules, and procurement agreements.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely material availability for production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning, production, and warehouse teams.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations based on quality, cost, delivery, and service levels.
- Maintain vendor databases and procurement documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends, material price fluctuations, and supply risks.
- Work with quality and engineering teams for supplier qualification and material approvals.




- Manage cost reduction initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including quality concerns and delivery delays.
- Prepare procurement reports, purchase analysis, and MIS reports for management review.
- Coordinate with finance for payment processing and vendor reconciliations.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred.

Experience :

- 5-10+ years of purchasing/procurement experience.
- Experience in home appliances, kitchen appliances, electronics, consumer durable, or manufacturing industries preferred.

Required Skills :

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical components used in appliances.
- ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar systems).
- Strong analytical and cost management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and deadlines.
