Category Manager – Banana Location: Maharashtra Banana Belt Vertical: Fruit Care Harvesting Labour Services Working Days: 6 days a week What you’ll actually do You will build the Banana business from zero. No inherited system. No playbook. No safety net. You will design the category • Decide which banana clusters we enter first • Map farmers, acreage, crop cycles, labour gaps • Build the launch playbook for every region • Turn messy field realities into a structured system You will build the service layer Fruit care harvesting is the core: • Bunch covering / sleeving • Propping & plant support • Deleafing & cleaning • Harvesting operations • Pre-harvest quality protection You define: • SOPs • Pricing • Productivity benchmarks • Quality standards • Training systems You will own harvesting (the hardest part) Harvesting banana is not “labour allocation”. It is timing skill execution discipline. You will: • Build trained harvesting teams • Ensure peak-season availability • Standardise execution quality • Reduce farmer dependency on informal labour networks • Handle real-time harvest-day chaos You will own farmers No farmers → no category. So you will:
