Role Description The Phlebotomist Kolkata role at Labridge is a full-time, in office position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The phlebotomist will be responsible for performing safe and accurate blood collection from patients, including venipuncture and capillary sampling, in accordance with established protocols.

Daily tasks include verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, labeling and handling specimens correctly, and ensuring that samples are prepared for timely transport to partner laboratories. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the collection area, following infection control and safety guidelines, and documenting all procedures and patient interactions accurately.



The phlebotomist will collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams, provide a calm and respectful experience for patients, and support high standards of quality and compliance in all collection activities.

Qualifications

- Strong Blood Collection skills, including venipuncture and capillary sampling, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Proficiency in Laboratory Skills such as specimen labeling, handling, storage, and adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and basic principles of Medicine relevant to phlebotomy and diagnostic testing.
- Experience in Medical Assisting, including patient preparation, vital signs checks, and coordination with clinical and laboratory staff.
- Recognized certification or diploma in phlebotomy, medical laboratory technology, or a related healthcare field.
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist or in a diagnostic center, hospital, or clinic setting is preferred.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain accurate records, and manage time efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach and the ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to work on-site in the Kolkata metropolitan area and comply with all infection control and safety guidelines.
